UNDERSTANDING
Milestone & Crawling Support
Watching your baby work toward rolling, sitting, and crawling is exciting, and it is easy to worry when they seem to stall or favor one side. Every baby moves on their own timeline. These milestones all rely on a freely moving spine and a well-regulated nervous system.
Can chiropractic help?
Every baby develops skills and milestones on their own timeline. We use gentle care to support symmetry, comfortable movement, and nervous system function, so your baby can explore each stage in their own time. This helps a baby who prefers to scoot, army crawl, drag one leg, or a variety of other crawling mechanisms. The hips and pelvis play a huge role in crawling and are greatly assessed at each visit in our office.
What a visit looks like
Your first visit includes a conversation about your baby, a gentle INSiGHT nervous system scan, and a feather-light first adjustment. Babies can be checked in the first days and weeks of life, and care is always tailored to your newborn's age and size.
“My daughter who is extremely active was not walking at 18 months. After 7 months of stress it turned out she had a locked hip, and she was walking after one visit. I wish I had taken her sooner.”

Common questions
How does chiropractic support a baby's movement and milestones?
A freely moving spine and a regulated nervous system make it easier for a baby to roll, sit, and crawl. We use gentle, specific care to support symmetry and comfortable movement, alongside plenty of tummy time. The hips and pelvis play a big role in crawling, and we check them at every visit.
Is chiropractic safe for my baby?
Dr. Hayley is trained to deliver a safe and gentle adjustment for all, specific to their age, size and what they have going on. There is no popping or cracking in a baby's adjustment. We use light fingertip pressure, no more than you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato, grounded in advanced ICPA training.
How old does my baby need to be?
Babies can be checked in the first days and weeks of life. Care is always tailored to your newborn's age and size with the gentlest possible approach.
