UNDERSTANDING
Baby Torticollis
If your baby always seems to look the same way or tilts their head to one side, you are not imagining it, and you are right to pay attention. Torticollis is when a baby holds their head tilted or turned to one side, often from tightness in the neck after positioning in the womb or during birth.
Can chiropractic help?
Torticollis support is given with gentle neck adjustments with slight fingertip pressure to help free up any muscle tightness and allow for more evenness in range of motion. We will check the baby's cranium for any development of flat spots and perform gentle cranial work to assist in the goal of a round, symmetrical cranium, if needed. Our goal is always comfortable, even movement, so your baby can turn, look, and explore both directions with ease.
What a visit looks like
Your first visit includes a conversation about your baby, a gentle INSiGHT nervous system scan, and a feather-light first adjustment. Babies can be checked in the first days and weeks of life, and care is always tailored to your newborn's age and size.
“My little one has seen Hayley since she was 5 days old. She was tense from delivery and would only turn her head one direction. After her first visit each time I can tell she feels so much better and is able to relax more.”
