Growing kids carry stress in their bodies, too.
We tend to think of stress as something adults deal with. But as children grow, their bodies are constantly adapting, to learning to crawl and walk, to tumbles and big emotions, to screens, heavy backpacks, sports, and the simple, fast pace of growing up. Because children can't always put what they're feeling into words, that tension often shows up in other ways: restless sleep, fussiness, digestion that's off, or trouble settling. Gentle pediatric chiropractic care supports the nervous system (the body's master control) so your child can adapt, regulate, and grow the way they're designed to. Based in Indian Trail, we care for families who also drive in from neighboring Matthews, Weddington, and across Union County, at every age and stage.

Just had a baby? A newborn's first weeks call for a different, even gentler kind of care. See our Newborn First Visit guide.
Develop
A healthy nervous system is the foundation for crawling, walking, talking, and every milestone in between.
Adapt
Children meet constant physical and sensory demands. The smoother their nervous system adapts, the more comfortable and regulated they feel.
Thrive
When tension is addressed early, kids tend to sleep, eat, and settle more easily, so the whole family feels it.
How pediatric chiropractic can help
When the nervous system is balanced and free of interference, the body is better able to do what it's designed to do. By gently reducing that tension, pediatric chiropractic care can help support your child's:

-
Focus, Sensory Processing & ADHD As children reach school age, the sensory and physical demands of their environment increase dramatically. For kids managing ADHD or sensory processing challenges, this can lead to an overwhelmed, overstimulated nervous system. At our Indian Trail office, our gentle care focuses on releasing tension so your child can improve emotional regulation, adaptability, and focus in the classroom and at home.
-
Immune Support & Ear Infections When toddlers and young children struggle with chronic ear infections, it often stems from poor fluid drainage caused by tension in the upper neck and cranial system. By providing neurologically-based adjustments, we help release this localized stress. This supports the body's natural ability to drain fluid and regulates overall immune function, keeping growing kids healthier year-round.
-
Childhood Digestion & Constipation A child’s brain and gut are deeply connected. When spinal tension interferes with the nervous system, it can drastically slow down gut motility, leading to chronic constipation and tummy aches. Our non-invasive adjustments help remove this interference, supporting comfortable, regular digestion without relying solely on harsh interventions.
-
Growing Pains, Posture & Restorative Sleep From the constant motion of the toddler years to heavy backpacks, competitive sports, and screen time, a growing body carries a lot of physical stress. This musculoskeletal tension can leave a child stuck in a "fight or flight" response, causing sleep regressions and restlessness. Our tailored pediatric adjustments release this built-up stress, allowing your child’s body to shift back into a calm state for deeper, restorative sleep and better posture.
Gentle care doesn't treat any condition directly. It supports the nervous system so your child's body can regulate, adapt, and function at its best. We're always happy to talk through whether care is a good fit for your child.

Gentle pediatric care, in plain language.
Care for a child looks nothing like adult chiropractic. There is no popping and no cracking.

What Dr. Hayley actually does: A gentle, hands-on assessment of how your child is holding tension through the spine and nervous system. We pair this with INSiGHT nervous-system scans, which are completely radiation-free, non-invasive, and painless, to give us real, objective data about where your child is holding stress, rather than guessing. Care is then specifically tailored to your child's age and stage.

What an adjustment looks like: Light, precise pressure — never the twisting or force used with adults. For little ones, it's often the gentlest touch; for older kids, it's still calm and low-force. Many children find it relaxing.

How long the visit takes: First visits take about 30 minutes; follow-up visits are usually 15 minutes or less. Either way, we leave time to talk through anything you've noticed at home.
Care that grows with your child
Gentle care is beneficial at every stage and the patterns we see shift as kids grow.
Crawling & Toddling
As babies become mobile, their bodies meet a whole new set of demands. Gentle care supports sleep, digestion, and steady development through this active stage. (For the first weeks of life, see our Newborn First Visit.)
Young Kids
Tumbles, big emotions, and constant motion. Gentle care supports regulation as they grow.
School Age & Beyond
Backpacks, posture, sports, screens, and busy schedules — care that helps them keep up with all of it.

Honest answers to the questions parents ask.
Is pediatric chiropractic safe for my child?
Yes. Pediatric chiropractic uses techniques that are dramatically different from adult care: gentle, low-force, and tailored to a child's age and stage. The parent stays with the child the whole time. Dr. Hayley Fincher has advanced pediatric training through Epic Pediatrics and The Pediatric Experience (PX).
My child seems healthy. Do they really need this?
Pediatric chiropractic is largely preventive. It supports how a child develops and adapts to the demands of growing, rather than waiting for something to be wrong. 'Healthy' is wonderful, and many parents who bring in a thriving child still notice better sleep and an easier-going kid afterward.
What ages do you see?
The Haven cares for children of every age, from newborn babies through toddlers, school-age kids, and teens. For the first weeks of life, see our Newborn First Visit page.
Does a pediatric adjustment hurt? Will my child be scared?
No. A pediatric adjustment uses light, gentle pressure, not the same force or cracking of adult care. Most children settle quickly because the space is calm and you stay with them the entire time, moving at their pace.
What might I notice afterward?
Results vary by child. Some parents notice changes quickly, such as a longer stretch of sleep, an easier mood, or better digestion, while others notice gentler shifts over several days. We'll talk through what's reasonable to expect at your visit.
