Gentle prenatal chiropractic care for pelvic comfort in Indian Trail, NC

The Haven is a pediatric and prenatal chiropractic clinic in Indian Trail, NC, offering gentle, Webster Technique and neurologically-based care for moms-to-be, including those feeling pubic symphysis or pelvic discomfort.

UNDERSTANDING

Pubic Symphysis (SPD)

If you feel a deep ache or a sharp pinch at the front of your pelvis when you climb stairs, roll over in bed, or get out of the car, you're not imagining it and you don't have to just push through it. The pubic symphysis is the joint at the front of your pelvis, and in pregnancy it can become tender and uneven.

Pregnancy hormones naturally loosen your joints to make room for baby. As the pubic symphysis and the rest of your pelvis become more mobile, they can move unevenly, which leaves the joint irritated and everyday movement feeling hard.

Signs you might notice

a grinding or clicking feeling

discomfort on stairs or standing on one leg

pain rolling over in bed

sharp pinch or ache at the front of the pelvis

Can chiropractic help?

Your pelvis works as one balanced ring, front and back. When the back of the pelvis is balanced and moving well, the pubic symphysis at the front tends to share the load more evenly.

We use gentle, specific care and the Webster Technique to support balance and evenness through the whole pelvis. It's low-force and comfortable, with supportive positioning so nothing aggravates the tender joint.

As balance improves, many moms find the everyday movements that used to pinch, like stairs and rolling over, start to feel easier. The Haven was built on advanced ICPA training, including the Webster Technique and Perinatal certification.

Common questions

How does chiropractic support pubic symphysis pain?

Pregnancy hormones loosen the pelvic joints, which can leave the pubic symphysis tender and uneven. We use gentle, specific care and the Webster Technique to support balance and evenness through the whole pelvis. Many moms notice that stairs, rolling over, and getting in and out of the car feel more comfortable.

Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Prenatal care at The Haven is gentle and low-force, with pregnancy pillows and supportive tables that cradle your changing body, and adjustments tailored to each trimester. Our prenatal care is grounded in advanced ICPA training, including the Webster Technique and Perinatal certification.

When in pregnancy can I start care?

You can begin prenatal care at any point, from the first trimester through your final weeks. Many moms come weekly or every other week, and we tailor the rhythm to how you're feeling and what your body needs.

Will the adjustments hurt if my pelvis is already sore?

No. Care is gentle and low-force, and we position you comfortably so nothing aggravates a tender joint. We work at your pace and check in the whole way, and most moms find the visits a relief from the day.
