There's something about pairing a good appointment with a good coffee that makes the whole trip feel less like an errand and more like a little moment for yourself. I'm a firm believer in taking those moments wherever you can find them.

So whether you're coming in for a prenatal adjustment, bringing your newborn for their first visit, or finally booking that appointment for you, here are the local coffee spots I love near The Haven, and exactly what I order at each one.

A couple are right around the corner from our office in the Town Center of Lake Park. A few are worth a slightly longer drive into Matthews or Monroe. All of them are locally owned, and in my opinion some of the best coffee near Indian Trail.

An iced latte from a local coffee shop near The Haven in Indian Trail, NC

Psalms Coffee · Closest to the office

Indian Trail · about 6 min · My order: maple kissed latte

Raw Crunch and Coffee

Indian Trail · about 8 to 10 min · My order: iced caramel latte

Brakeman's Coffee & Supply

Matthews · about 15 min · My order: queen bee latte

Sorella Coffee

Monroe · about 18 min · My order: iced caramel latte with cinnamon

August Lily

Monroe · about 20 min · My order: the Winnie

Psalms Coffee, the closest to us (and great with kids)

5904 Indian Trail Fairview Rd, Indian Trail · about 1.8 miles, roughly a 6 minute drive from the office

The closest coffee to the office, and a favorite for families. Psalms is a sweet, locally owned, faith-centered spot with a long list of latte flavors and house-made syrups, a drive-through for the days you've got a sleeping baby in the back, and a little playground out back for when you don't. They serve Night Swim Coffee, and the whole place has such a warm, welcoming feel.

My order: the maple kissed latte.

Raw Crunch and Coffee, a gluten-free gem

133 Indian Trail Rd N, Indian Trail · about 3 miles, roughly 8 to 10 minutes from the office

This one is also close by, and it's a two-in-one: a cozy coffee counter up front and the Raw Crunch health-food kitchen in the back, where they make their own Raw Crunch snack bars. If you're gluten-free or eating clean, you'll feel right at home here. They do organic coffee, house-made syrups, matcha, and made-to-order gluten-free crepes that are genuinely worth showing up hungry for.

My order: an iced caramel latte. Every time.

Brakeman's Coffee & Supply, worth the extra few minutes

225 N Trade Street, Matthews · about 7 miles, roughly 15 minutes via US-74

Brakeman's is a little further out, over in downtown Matthews, but it's such a fun one I had to include it. It's railroad-themed, named after a train brakeman, and tucked into a quirky 1902 house with multiple cozy rooms to sit in and outdoor seating. It's the kind of place you go when you actually have time to sit, sip, and breathe for a minute. A slow vibe with fast, friendly service.

My order: the queen bee latte.

Sorella Coffee, a downtown Monroe gem

107 S Main St, Monroe · about 10 miles, roughly 18 minutes

Sorella is about eighteen minutes away in downtown Monroe, and it's beautiful. It's my go-to on a day off. It was opened in August 2023 by two sisters (sorella is Italian for sister) in a lovingly restored historic building, and the whole space feels curated and calm. If you're making a morning of it, this is a lovely stop.

My order: an iced caramel latte with cinnamon. And when they have a seasonal cinnamon sugar, I'm getting that.

August Lily, flowers and coffee in one

1207 Concord Ave, Monroe · about 9 miles, roughly 20 minutes

This one is a little different, and I love it for that. August Lily is a florist and a coffee bar in one, tucked into a flower shop in downtown Monroe. You can grab your drink and a baked treat and walk out with a bouquet for someone you love, or just for yourself. It is calm and pretty and smells like fresh flowers, which is reason enough to go.

My order: the Winnie.

Make your visit a little ritual

Here's my honest pitch: the families who keep up with their care are usually the ones who find a way to make it feel good, not like one more thing on the list. So grab the latte. Bring the kids, because we have a play area, and a coffee in your hand makes everything easier. Take the slightly longer way home through Matthews if you need ten quiet minutes.

We're right here in Indian Trail, caring for families across Union County and the greater Charlotte area, and we'd love to see you. If you're new, your first visit is a relaxed conversation, an INSiGHT nervous system scan, and your first adjustment.

Explore care for pregnancy, babies and kids, and the whole family, or book whenever you're ready.

Now, go enjoy that coffee. You've earned it.
